New Physical Education Athletics Class at Sardis Senior
Published Wednesday, February 12, 2014
Chilliwack FC supports Sardis Senior's new Physical Education Athletics class geared towards soccer training.
The Physical Education Athletics class is a Physical Education course designed for high level athletes who wish to continue their training regime through a sport specific training program. The course will assist students in building the sport specific skills such as individual soccer skills, team formations, tactical awareness supplemented with plyometrics, sport specific weight training, agility and core training, aerobic and anaerobic training
The developmental program will include a variety of activities but with greater emphasis on developing students’ personal athletic attributes in the area of soccer. To achieve this, activities will be organized around whole-class, small group, and independent programs.
These activities will help students develop positive attitudes towards a healthy, active lifestyle and promote personal growth and social responsibility both in the classroom and within the community. Students will gain knowledge to help them in future settings and to maintain a healthy lifestyle beyond the scope of the classroom. Sardis Secondary’s P.E. Department stresses the importance and belief that all students will be included and expected to participate to the best of their ability.
